IFX Technologies launches as a European DeepTech Platform for functional fluid technologies
IFX Technologies GmbH launches as a new European DeepTech company for functional fluid technologies in demanding industrial processes. Building on the internationally established intelligent fluids® technology platform, an extensive IP portfolio, existing customer relationships, and an experienced team, IFX Technologies is focused on further technological development and international scaling.
At the core of the company is the proprietary IFX Technology Platform – a patented generation of functional multiphase fluids. Its high degree of variability allows the fluids to be precisely tailored to different materials, processes, and industrial requirements, enabling highly effective and selective cleaning and separation processes. This provides a profitable and sustainable alternative to conventional solvent-based processes.
Applications include material separation processes such as the removal of paints/coatings and adhesives/resins, as well as other demanding cleaning processes involving oils/greases and process-related organic contaminants. The water-based, pH-neutral, non-flammable, and readily biodegradable fluids significantly reduce process times, energy consumption, and Total Cost of Ownership, combining technological efficiency with measurable economic and environmental benefits.
The IFX technology is not a vision for the future: it has already been qualified by leading semiconductor and industrial companies in Europe and is in series production use. Its application spectrum ranges from highly specialized processes such as photoresist stripping and metal lift-off in the semiconductor industry to industrial maintenance applications and the cleaning of production equipment and heat exchangers in the energy and chemical industries.
At the same time, increasing regulatory pressure on conventional chemicals and solvents worldwide is accelerating the shift toward economically viable alternatives and creating additional growth opportunities for IFX Technologies.
“With IFX Technologies, we are taking an already industrially established technology platform into its next phase of growth. Our goal is to address specific industrial challenges with solutions that are more powerful, economical, and sustainable than conventional processes," said Christian Römlein, CEO and Co-Founder of IFX Technologies GmbH.
IFX Technologies is supported by Heing® Venture Architects as an investor and value-creation partner. Heing® is a global partnership for industrial transformation that builds and scales technology-driven companies.
“Industry needs alternatives that deliver not only environmental benefits but, above all, compelling economics. This is precisely where we see the strength of IFX: an industrially
validated platform technology with measurable customer value and significant potential for international scaling. Together with the experienced team, we intend to systematically expand this position," added Manuel Hein, Founder & Managing Partner of Heing® Venture Architects.
IFX Technologies is also laying the foundations for further growth internationally. The company has been selected for the KAUST ScaleX 2026 Cohort of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. The program supports international technology companies in entering and scaling within the Saudi Arabian market and provides IFX with access to a strong network of industry, research, and strategic partners – serving as a starting point for further expansion into Arab markets.
With its headquarters in Leipzig, production in Leuna, and a highly qualified team, IFX Technologies has a strong foundation for further international expansion. Together with strategic partners, the company plans to expand its production, sales, and service capabilities across Asia, the GCC countries, India, and the United States – particularly through regional joint ventures and partnerships.
In doing so, IFX is laying the foundation for scaling its technology platform internationally across new markets and industrial applications.
