Sharp To Slash Work Force By 2960 & Report Extraordinary Loss
Sharp Corporation has announced the consolidations of the "Sharp Corporation Voluntary Retirement Program," announced on 28th August 2012.
The company is also recording an extraordinary loss.
This includes the voluntary retirement of staff from applied companies Sharp Corporation and major consolidated subsidiaries in Japan.
The number of personnel who have applied to retire is 2960 (Sharp stipulated a minimum of 2000). The retirement application period closed earlier than expected, on 9th November due to oversubscription and the date of retirement will be on 15th December.
