Linx: Market for advanced semiconductor cleans $719 million in 2013
The firm also believes the market will grow with semiconductor MSI growth
Semiconductor wafer fabrication cleaning challenges are driving demand for advanced cleaning chemicals and products, according to a new report by Linx Consulting, an electronic materials consultant to the semiconductor industry.
The new report, "Advanced Cleaning & Surface Preparation 2013-2018," predicts semiconductor wafer cleaning challenges will be driven by the integration of new materials used in smaller device structures, increasing the difficulty of preparing the wafer for the next process step.
The fifth edition o fthe report covers applications for wet chemicals utilised in the global semiconductor industry including formulated cleans, solvent strips and critical SPM cleaning steps.
The report also provides analyses of "leading" suppliers and supplier shares of wet process chemicals and forecasts industry growth to 2018.
The report is based upon investigating current and next generation devices and understanding the process flows and materials sets utilised in device fabrication.
The publication will also review such trends as how the proliferation of novel materials in gate architecture, memory cell technology, interconnect and packaging, is adding complexity in material choice and formulation.
