Fluor expands advanced technologies expertise
Fluor Corporation has announced two strategic leadership appointments within its Advanced Technologies and Life Sciences (ATLS) business, further reinforcing the company’s position as a global leader in advanced technologies. John Palmer joins Fluor as Senior Vice President of Operations for Advanced Technologies. Denis Bacon has been named Vice President of Semiconductors.
Palmer will lead Fluor’s growing portfolio in the global data center, semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors, driving strategic growth and operational excellence across key technology markets.
“John Palmer is a recognized industry leader with demonstrated success in leading large, advanced technologies organizations,” said Mark E. Funk, President of Fluor’s Advanced Technologies and Life Sciences business. “His role will be to grow our data center, advanced manufacturing and semiconductor business in strategic markets around the world, and to ensure alignment with Fluor’s commitment to quality, safety and innovation.”
Palmer’s career spans engineering and construction for semiconductor facilities, data centers, flat panel display and photovoltaic manufacturing, consumer electronics, life sciences and advanced
automotive manufacturing. He brings extensive global experience, including assignments in Europe and Asia. He will be based in Greenville, South Carolina.

Bacon, who will report to Palmer, brings more than 25 years of experience in global project delivery and design/build execution for semiconductor and advanced technologies facilities. He has led large scale engineering, procurement and construction management delivery operations throughout his career. Bacon will focus on strengthening Fluor’s semiconductor business, aligning Fluor’s market strategies and project delivery capabilities with evolving customer needs.
