Lam Research to add 200 semiconductor roles in Singapore
Nearly 90 percent of the new positions will be specialised engineering and technical roles supporting advanced chipmaking and packaging technologies.
Lam Research plans to create approximately 200 roles in Singapore during 2026 as it strengthens its capabilities in advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
Nearly 90 percent of the positions will be specialised engineering and technical roles. The expansion comes as demand for advanced manufacturing technologies accelerates, driven by AI and increasingly complex chip architectures.
The new employees will work in areas including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), 2.5D and 3D integration, silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, panel-level packaging and intelligent equipment and service technologies. These capabilities are becoming increasingly important to the development of next-generation AI and high-performance computing systems.
The workforce expansion builds on more than three decades of Lam operations in Singapore. It is expected to strengthen the company’s local technical expertise and support closer collaboration with customers and industry partners across the region.

Lam also works with Nanyang Technological University, the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Institute of Technology to introduce students to semiconductor careers and provide practical insight into the industry.
Singapore currently produces approximately one in ten of the world’s chips, according to the Singapore Economic Development Board.
