Intel appeals procedural ruling from the European Commission
The company issues a statement in response to amounting questions in the media.
In response to press questions Intel has disclosed that it has filed an appeal with the Court of First Instance (CFI) in Europe related to procedural rulings of the European Commission. The appeal relates to Intel's rights concerning its response to the Supplementary Statement of Objections (SSO) issued in July of this year.
Intel is asking the CFI to overrule Commission decisions that the company believes will hinder its ability to conduct a fair and effective defence against the charges contained in the SSO. The specifics of the filing with the CFI, like other information related to the case, are confidential.
Intel had tried to resolve these procedural issues, which it believes involve fundamental issues of fairness, with the Commission but unfortunately those efforts did not succeed.
