Arrow expands distribution relationship with ON Semiconductor

News
The company aims to provide design service and support of ON Semiconductor's ASIC products, and distribute the company's ASSP solutions acquired from AMI Semiconductor.
Arrow Electronics announced it is expanding its relationship with ON Semiconductor, a supplier of high performance, energy efficient, silicon solutions, to now include the design service and support of ON Semiconductor's ASIC offerings. Arrow also offers its customers ON Semiconductor's expanded application specific standard products (ASSP) portfolio of solutions for automotive, communications, medical and industrial markets acquired from AMI Semiconductor earlier this year.

Arrow's extensive design and development capabilities can effectively support ON Semiconductor's broad product portfolio. In addition, Arrow will continue to distribute ON Semiconductor's broad range of power, analogue, advanced logic and standard components for the automotive, computing, power supply and portable applications.

"Arrow's industry leading engineering services continue to provide a strategic advantage for our suppliers and customers. We are pleased to be partnering with ON Semiconductor. This opportunity brings together Arrow's design and development services and ON Semiconductor's complete solutions portfolio, creating a truly differentiated offering for our customers," said David West, vice president of engineering services at Arrow. "Combining ON Semiconductor's ASIC expertise with Arrow's strong technical and supply chain support will offer our customers superior flexibility and shorter time to market."

"We are excited about the potential to offer our customers a full breadth of energy efficient solutions from custom ASICs and ASSPs to standard ICs and discrete components through select distribution channel partners like Arrow," said Jeff Thomson, vice president of global channel sales for ON Semiconductor.
