Edwards largest order ever
The company receives the largest order in its history from a flat panel manufacturer.
Edwards, a supplier of vacuum and abatement equipment and services, announced one of the largest orders in the company’s history, the sale of approximately 100 iXH harsh process vacuum pumps to a major flat panel manufacturer. The pumps are intended for a manufacturing facility producing 50+ inch LCD panels based in Asia. Delivery of the full order will be completed by the end of 2008.
“This historic order is a clear vindication of the platform approach we took in developing the iXH pump,” said Nigel Hunton, Edwards’ CEO. “The new iXH platform is based on a scalable architecture and a modular design with fewer parts than our earlier pump generations. This translates into major benefits for customers include delivering higher performance with lower running costs and unsurpassed ‘green’ credentials.”
The iXH platform offers twice the pumping capacity of previous Edwards harsh process pumps, and it has a 25 percent smaller footprint, it is 25 percent lighter, and is more energy efficient. The platform’s design enables Edwards’ customers to respond more quickly to emerging process requirements, while the increases in pumping capacity and energy efficiency helps to significantly lower tool cost of ownership. At the same time, the reduction in parts reduces tool maintenance and helps to extend pump life, further lowering cost of ownership.
