SEAJ posts October figures
The Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) posts its book to bill ratio based on three months average for October 2008.
Japan based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted ¥60,913 million in orders in October 2008, on a three month average basis, and a BB ratio of 0.81 according to the October 2008 BB ratio published by SEAJ. A book to bill ratio of 0.81 means that ¥ 81 worth of new orders was received for every ¥100 of product billed for the month. The three month average of worldwide bookings in October 2008 was ¥60,913 million.
The bookings figure is 23 percent down the final September 2008 level of ¥79,152 million and 52.1 percent down the¥127,056 million in orders posted in October 2007. The three-month average of worldwide billings in October 2008 was ¥74,856 million.
The billings figure is 10.3 percent down the final September 2008 level of ¥83,408 million and 53.8 percent down the October 2007 billings level of ¥161,892 million. The SEAJ book-to-bill is a ratio of three-month moving average bookings to three-month moving average billings for the Japanese semiconductor equipment industry.
