DCD gets SNUG award
Dubai Circuit Design Centre receives award from Global Design Forum in Germany. Synopsys Users Group (SNUG) in Munich recognises DCD’s technical excellence.
Dubai Circuit Design (DCD), the region’s first design centre for physical implementation of advanced integrated circuits and a 100% owned centre by Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), announced it received the “Honourable Mention” award from the technical committee, at the 17th annual Synopsys Users’ Group (SNUG) conference in Munich, Germany.
Dubai Circuit Design engineers have presented three technical papers covering various topics in chip design, and have received high ratings from the conference participants for the topics presented. One of the papers presented by senior engineers Manu Baby and Vijay Sarathi of DCD for “Advanced Design for Testability (DFT) Implementation Using Synopsys Design Ware Components and Galaxy Test” has received the Honourable Mention award from the technical committee.
Dr. Jihad Kiwan, Managing Director of DCD, said: “We believe that this recognition is only the beginning of a journey towards achieving the goal that DCD is set to accomplish. Our team of professional Engineers will continue to make headway in new design innovations, which is part of our commitment to make DCD one of the world’s leading centres of advanced electronic innovation in design and development.”
The two day SNUG Europe conference featured a technical programme with more than 60 presentations that focused on all areas of design including system level, synthesis, verification, analogue mixed signal, low power design, physical design, test, sign off and FPGAs. These presentations focused on the challenges that engineers face as they design complex systems for a wide array of applications. SNUG Europe is part of a global programme that last year drew more than 6,000 integrated circuit (IC) and system design engineers to eight such technical conferences worldwide.
Located within the DSO premises, the DCD complements existing regional and global technological companies located at the DSO. DCD is part of DSO's long term strategy to widen its contribution to Dubai’s drive for a knowledge based economy.
