SiGe bucks negative trend

SiGe Semiconductor has announced a record-setting year of growth fro the company, with greater than 350 million units shipped since the company's inception.
The company expects 2008 full year revenues to be approximately US $98 million with shipments of more than 120 million units during the year.

"This is the fifth consecutive year that SiGe Semiconductor has achieved annual revenue growth of more than 40 percent," said Sohail Khan, chief executive officer, SiGe Semiconductor. "We have increased our leadership position in the wireless LAN and WiMAX markets due, in large part, to our innovative solutions and outstanding customer and technical support."

"SiGe is consistently delivering impressive results, they have made the right investments to keep pace with the demands of the consumer industry while maintaining their #1 leadership position in the WLAN space," said Will Strauss, president and principal analyst for Forward Concepts.

Highlights for 2008 include:

Ranked number 114 fastest growing company in North America on Deloitte's 2008Technology Fast 500

Awarded leading product status in the EDN China Innovation Awards 2008 for the SE2593A, the world's most integrated RF front-end module for Wi-Fi applications that meets and exceeds the IEEE 802.11n specification requirements.

Ranked Number 5 on the list of the Top 10 Wireless Solution Companies in Canada and Number 58 on the Branham300 List of Canada's Top 250 Technology Companies, as published by Branham Group Inc.

SiGe's SE4120S, the world's smallest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver, won Electronic Products China's prestigious Product Award.

The company has expanded facilities on a global basis with a particular focus on Asia. During the year, the company increased its footprint in Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan. With these new operational bases, SiGe is better positioned to serve and support its customer base around the globe.
