Semiconductor Tool Manufacturing Market Still Recovering
SEMI has reported that worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings reached US$ 10.61 billion in the first quarter of 2012.
The billings figure is 14 percent higher than the fourth
quarter of 2011 and 9 percent lower than the same quarter a year ago. The data
has been gathered
with the Semiconductor
Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from over 100 global equipment companies
that provide data on a monthly basis.
Worldwide semiconductor equipment bookings were $10.07 billion in the first
quarter of 2012. This is 9 percent lower than the same
quarter a
year ago and 13 percent higher than the bookings figure for the fourth
quarter of 2011.
The Korean market has been the fastest growing as shown in the
figure, whilst the other regional revenues have fluctuated due to seasonality
and environmental disasters.
