Brewer Recycling Initiative Diverts 56,000 Pounds Of Waste
Brewer Science, has take it on itself to help protect the environment.
The company put a new mission into action over the weekend of September 22nd with a successful electronics and appliance recycling drive that took hundreds of unwanted items off the hands of Missourians.
Brewer partnered with the City of Rolla, Phelps County Commission, Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management District, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Meramec Regional Planning Commission to provide a one-stop recycling location to drop off unwanted electronics and appliances.
This collection rerouted 56,000 pounds of electronic waste from landfills to be recycled. While the majority of recyclers were from Phelps county, recyclers from Crawford, Dent, Maries and Gasconade counties also benefited from the event.
Hundreds of citizens participated in the recycling collection, leaving behind unwanted or outdated items including 91 computers, 12 laptops, 73 printers, 42 keyboards and 33 microwave ovens. The items were dropped off for recycling at the Brewer Science campus in Rolla, Missouri.

The reduction of electronic waste is just one of the initiatives Brewer Science has taken to protect the environment.
Over the past 9 years the firm has diverted over 375 tons of waste from landfills. Partnership collections have helped the community properly dispose of more than 344 tons of waste electronics, appliances and tyres over the last 9 years.
