Compugraphics nets electronics industry award again

Photomask supplier Compugraphics was voted "Supplier of the Year 2012" at the recent National Microelectronics Institute (NMI) awards ceremony held in London.

This is the second time in three years that Compugraphics has won this award.

The accolade was made by representatives from manufacturing sites on the following categories: flexibility and responsiveness to customer requests; quality of product; business impact of product and continuous improvement practices.

Brian Young, general manager of Compugraphics International (Glenrothes) said, "Compugraphics has a 40+ year history and has grown to become a globally recognised player in the sector. From Scotland our products are now exported all over Europe and the world. This award from our customers in the UK and Ireland is fantastic motivation for us and reassurance that even long standing customers are benefiting from our efforts to continually improve the customer experience."

Speaking at the event Derek Boyd, CEO of UK electronics trade organisation NMI, added, "A strong supplier network that delivers a high quality service and continually improves is essential to the health of the UK's electronics industry. The survey highlighted that there we have an impressive network. With such strong feedback we were delighted to name Compugraphics NMI supplier of the year 2012."

Compugraphics is a photomask supplier in Europe and the USA, specialising in photomasks and reticles for the semiconductor, MEMs and optoelectronics industries. 

Photomasks are high precision plates made out of glass which a chrome layer on one side, usually containing microscopic pictures of electronic circuits etched into the chrome.

The National Microelectronics Institute (NMI) represents the semiconductor industry in the UK and Ireland.

Its aim is to help build and support a strong micro and nanoelectronics community by acting as a catalyst and facilitator for commercial and technological development.

A non profit organisation funded by its members, the NMI has a membership that spans the supply chain and includes fabless semiconductor manufacturers, IDMs, foundries, design services, IP providers, business associates, research and academic institutions.
