Consensus looks up from downturn
SEMI issued its Capital Equipment Consensus Forecast. For this year, sales are expected to reach $21.3bn, up 8.20% from last year’s $19.75. More speculatively, the consensus gives figures for 2004-2006: $29.62bn (+38.61%), $35.00bn (+18.16%) and $32.68bn (-6.63%).

The European portion of the sales is given for 2002-2006 as: $2.11bn, $2.35bn (+11.37%), $3.31bn (+40.85%), $3.83bn (+15.71%), $3.46bn (-9.66%).
The North American market: $5.91bn (2002), $4.49bn (-24.04%), $5.59bn (+24.50%), $6.83bn (+22.18%), $6.52bn (-4.54%).
Japan: $3.89bn, $5.68 (+46.02%), $7.72bn (+35.92%), $8.34bn (+8.03%), $7.71bn (-7.55%).
Taiwan: $3.49bn, $2.93bn (-16.05%), $4.60bn (+57.00%), $5.56bn (+20.87%), $ 4.96bn (-10.79%).
South Korea: $1.66, $2.82 (+69.88%), $3.96 (+40.43%), $4.50 (+13.64%), $3.91 (-13.11%).
Rest of World: $2.69bn, $3.10bn (+15.24%), $4.44bn (+43.23%), $5.94bn (+33.78%), $6.12bn (+3.03%).
