More outsourcing at Infineon
The move cuts the number of Infineon suppliers for real estate and facility management from around 180 individual sources to just three prime contractors, radically reducing the number of interfaces and simplifying processes. The order value for the entire five-year term of the agreement runs to EUR145mn. The three prime contractors are expected to take on some of Infineon’s workforce.
The prime contractors will now carry out routine activities and detailed planning of operation and of routine and preventive maintenance, though Infineon will retain overall responsibility, including strategic decision-making powers. Infineon will continue to provide its own cleanroom servicing in full.
Real estate and facility management for Infineon’s locations in Munich, Regensburg, Dresden, Warstein (Germany), Villach (Austria), Porto (Portugal), and Cegled (Hungary) will transfer to Dussmann. The prime contractors will then be responsible for infrastructure (cleaning of buildings and outdoor spaces, security), technical (building and outdoor maintenance) and commercial activities (leasing, space management). Catering requirements will also be covered.
Air Liquide will operate the gas and chemicals supply and distribution system in Dresden. Kinetics will handle Regensburg, Munich, Villach, Porto, Warstein and Cegled.
