ST boosts Indian operation
STMicroelectronics inaugurated its third state-of-the-art design and development facility in India at Noida, near New Delhi. The new wing will be able to house 550 additional skilled design/embedded software engineers.
STMicroelectronics inaugurated its third state-of-the-art design and development facility in India at Noida, near New Delhi. The new wing will be able to house 550 additional skilled design/embedded software engineers.
ST is also setting up a design centre capable of housing 100 designers at Bangalore, India's information technology hub, to build its presence in the city.
STMicroelectronics employs more than 1400 people in India. It has been designing integrated circuits and developing software solutions in India since 1992. The Noida centre is the company's single largest design facility outside Europe.
ST India specialises in developing intellectual property (IP) system-on-chip (SoC) embedded software for end applications and IT infrastructure. Key applications include set-top box (STB), DVD, wireless-telecom, multimedia, imaging and automotive. ST India has filed more than 100 patents of which more than 40 were filed in 2003 alone.
