OMI and the National Taiwan University (NTU) also announced the establishment of an advanced packaging metrology applications centre within the university. This will use OMI’s digital imaging correlation technology in conjunction with traditional methods to assess new package designs and develop more robust and reliable packages for the semiconductor and electronics industries.
OMI CEO Eoin Gilley reports: “This is the first of several applications centres for advanced packaging research and development that we are in the process of establishing. These centres will give OMI access to state of the art package design requirements and will enable us to continually address current and future packaging needs with our OMISTRAIN product.”
