OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has been named the exclusive worldwide organic light-emitting diode (OLED) supplier for Cyclotec AMT, a supplier of medical technology.
Cyclotec AMT will use OSRAM’s patented Pictiva 96 x 64 yellow OLED display technology in its miniature, wireless, remote-controlled Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)-based devices for medical pain treatment.
The displays will provide text to guide the user through the full operation of the equipment. Users can view the screens directly or at a viewing angle spanning 160degrees.
“In addition to the standard control prompts, OSRAM’s Pictiva OLED displays have even made it possible for us to include the entire user manual on-screen,” reports Barry Sauls, Cyclotec’s director of engineering.
Pictiva uses polymer materials to produce an exceptionally bright, high-contrast, emissive display with a wide viewing angle.
