Asyst announces strategic partnership
Asyst Technologies has announced today that it will team with IBM Global Services to provide a full range of manufacturing automation solutions for the worldwide semiconductor marketplace. The agreement will provide Asyst with a worldwide integration service that will enable them to enhance current technology and have a foot in the door for future growth in new industries.
The arrangement also allows Asyst to expedite the rollout of its technology. With standards being formed and automation integration and control becoming such a vital issue in the industry, Asyst felt they required such a partnership to move them to the next level of growth.
"Despite the need for standards there is no longer a one size fits all solution," explained Asyst's Vice President of product marketing & business development, Jim Holliday to European Semiconductor. "Software solutions of the future will require specialist software at every fab so integration is key."
