Oxford Instrument Plasma Technology (OIPT) has officially opened a new molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) production facility in East Grinstead, UK. Oxford Instruments acquired VG SemiconÕs MBE business from Thermo Electron Corporation in October 2003.

"In the first 12 months of ownership, our new MBE business has exceeded all our targets and expectations with multiple orders won from the strategically important research and production market segments in North America, Europe and the Far East." says Jim Williams, general manager.
OIPTÕs longest serving MBE employee, Tim Corke (pictured with Williams), who has worked for the Company since 1971, officially opened the building.
