Intel elects new CEO
IntelÕs board of directors has elected Paul S Otellini, currently president and chief operating officer (COO), as its next CEO. Otellini will succeed Craig R Barrett. Barrett will succeed Andrew S Grove as chairman of the Intel board of directors.
IntelÕs board of directors has elected Paul S Otellini, currently president and chief operating officer (COO), as its next CEO. Otellini will succeed Craig R Barrett. Barrett will succeed Andrew S Grove as chairman of the Intel board of directors.
Grove will no longer serve on the Intel board but will assume the role of senior advisor to the board and senior management. Andy Grove has been a driving force at Intel since its inception in 1968. Otellini and Barrett both joined the company in 1974.
The changes will become effective at the time of the company's next annual stockholders' meeting May 18, 2005.
