Gary Nevison has been appointed chairperson of European trade body the Distributors and Manufacturers Association of Semiconductor Specialists (DMASS).
Nevison – who has almost 30 years experience in the semiconductor industry - is head of product market strategy at Farnell InOne, an international distributor of electronic and industrial components.
He is also one of the industrys leading commentators on environmental legislation, not least the European Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
Nevison – who will serve as DMASS chairperson for the next year – will be involved in providing the associations members with detailed statistical information about the industry.
"The [information] that DMASS provides is highly valuable to both distributors and manufacturers as it is the only Europe-wide industry body that collates detailed semiconductor market data on a quarterly basis," said Nevison.
