STMicroelectronics - Europes second largest chip maker - has formed a new corporate executive committee to run the business once veteran president and chief executive officer Pasquale Pistorio retires in May this year.

The committee will include incoming president and chief executive officer Carlo Bozotti, and chief operating officer Alain Dutheil. In addition, four corporate executives, each representing specific functions of the company, will be included in the committee.

They are Enrico Villa (representing sales and marketing), Laurent Bosson (manufacturing and technology), Philippe Geyres (products) chief financial officer Carlo Ferro (corporate infrastructure and services) and chief strategic officer Andrea Cuomo (staff). The corporate executive members of the committee will be given the title of executive vice presidents.

To be chaired by Bozotti, the committee will meet regularly to discuss strategy and launch new initiatives.

Pistorio said: "I believe the newly-formed committee will play a key role in fulfilling the companys long-term vision of matching the market and technology evolution while preserving the continuity of STs corporate values."
