Ergotron introduces lift and pivot technology

Ergotron has released Constant Force (CF) lift and pivot technology. CF provides height adjustment of an LCD monitor with a constant force. CF uses a low-cost and reliable conventional spring that converts the spring’s linear force curve into a flat, constant force, throughout the entire range of lifting motion. This force conversion means that users exert very little effort to adjust their display, and they experience a quiet fluidity to the motion. CF will be included in all new products from now on.

“This patented technology is the culmination of many years of intense engineering development and understanding our customers’ and the markets’ needs,” says Harry Sweere, Ergotron’s Chairman. “The breakthrough design of CF leapfrogs over conventional gas spring technology commonly used today, at a fraction of the cost.”

Existing flat panel users can leverage their investment in displays by easily upgrading their existing mounts to CF’s more flexible desk stands or arms. The CF based products ensure a viewer can easily adjust display screens to the appropriate location and height, optimized for personal comfort and ergonomic health. CF’s weight adjustability is also a benefit to channel partners who no longer need to carry a complex and wide-ranging quantity of inventory to meet end-user’s requirements. One CF product model covers a wide range of LCD or plasma monitors, eliminating excessive inventory carrying costs.
