Scottish semiconductor tools maker Simple Technical Solutions (STS) has clinched a deal with US equipment giant Novellus to provide new and refurbished Novellus PVD systems to chip makers.
The deal specifically covers products related to Novelluss acquisition of Varian Associates thin film systems division. Edinburgh-based STS will manufacture the tools at its Scottish facilities and provide sales, marketing and technical support for legacy systems sold during and prior to the agreement.
"This [deal] allows us to offer customers of a cost-effective means of procuring field-proven systems," said STS md Simon Law.
