Scottish chip maker Wolfson Microelectronics and US firm Cirrus Logic have announced that they have settled all outstanding litigation between the companies.
Cirrus Logic brought a suit against Wolfson and its subsidiary Wolfson Microelectronics in October 2003 alleging patent infringement. The suit led to an investigation by the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) that terminated in February 2005.
Under a settlement agreement, the companies have agreed to withdraw all outstanding claims and counterclaims. They have also applied to the ITC for the withdrawal of an exclusion order issued in February 2005 in relation to one of Cirruss patents.
