Japanese chip maker Renesas Technology has announced that Dr Koichi Nagasawa will retire as chairman and chief executive officer in April and become chairman emeritus. He will be replaced by president and chief operating officer Satoru Ito as part of wide-ranging management changes.
In a written statement, the company gave as a reason for the management shake-up: "Because the first phase of the operating plan is now complete, having been implemented over the past two years, the company will make the transition to a new management team to attain further achievements."
