RF Micro opens new design centre in France
The new facility will focus on the development of nextgeneration EDGE and Wideband CDMA (two technologies for allowing multimedia on mobile phones) cellular products and will aid collaboration between RF Micro Devices and wireless manufacturers based in Toulouse. It will be staffed by a team of applications engineers, system engineers and technicians developing radio solutions for 2.5G and 3G standards.
"We expect this office will further accelerate customer adoption of our EDGE and Wideband CDMA transceiver and power amplifier solutions and will also serve to provide our customers with additional local support," said RF Micro Devices corporate vice president of wireless products Eric Creviston.
Toulouse is one of Europe’s leading centres for wireless communications manufacturers, and RF Micro is hoping that the new centre will convince these firms to purchase its Polaris Total Radio transceiver and module solutions.
"Manufacturers are increasingly selecting our Polaris solutions," said Creviston.
