Europe could fall behind the US in nanotechnology expertise unless it ups its investment in research into this promising technology.
Europe could fall behind the US in nanotechnology expertise unless it ups its investment in research into this promising technology. The Bush administration has just announced that it wants to spend US$344 million next year on nanotechnology research and development.

If ratified by congress, the investment could make the US a world leader in this field. The money would be targeted at developing nanotechnology for use in manufacturing, materials, information technologies and medicine.
