Micronic reports record results
The results were boosted by a strong fourth quarter. Net sales in the fourth quarter rose to SEK 422 million (190 million) while profits after financial items reached SEK94 million (-93 million).
Micronic president and chief executive officer Sven Lofquist said that the "excellent" fourth quarter and full-year results helped the company meet its "ambitious" goals.
"2004 turned out to be a record year in many respects as we doubled our sales year-onyear and surpassed the record sales in 2000 by 20%," he said.
"These earnings enabled us to reach our key financial objective, an operating margin of 15%. We also achieved a gross margin of 56%, which is impressive in view of the weakened dollar." He want on to say that 2005 "has the potential to be an even better year".
