German mobile phone component vendor Agilent technologies is to buy Korean power amplifier maker Wavics for an undisclosed sum.
Bryan Ingram, general manager of Agilent’s wireless semiconductor division, said that the acquisition would make the company a leader in power amplifiers and front-end modules for mobile phones.
"Together, Agilent and Wavics can offer customers a range of highly differentiated power amplifiers that far exceed rival solutions." The acquisition is subject to closing conditions and the financial conditions have not yet been disclosed.
