California-based system-on-chip interconnect supplier Sonics Inc has opened an engineering design centre in Armenia as part of ambitious plans to grow the company.
The new facility will be used for both product development and providing support to infrastructure projects, said Sonics president and chief executive officer Grant Pierce.
"As Sonics completes its transition from a start-up company to an emerging growth company, we are directing the company's resources to support the expected revenue growth," he said.
"The expansion into Armenia enables Sonics to utilise a team of talented engineers while managing development costs."
