iSuppli estimates the excess inventory (oversupply) in the semiconductor supply chain at $1.1bn in Q3 2004, up 38% from Q2's $829mn. The market researcher had previously been hoping that inventories would stay flat with Q2. The analyst predicts 9.6% growth in 2005, compared with a 25.4% forecast for 2004.
