European foundry aims at automotive high voltage

Austriamicrosystems' Full Service Foundry business unit has produced a fully automotive qualified CMOS 50V high voltage process for its 0.35micron technology platform. The process is a modular extension of the 0.35micron CMOS licensed from TSMC permitting reuse of digital designs.
The H35 process offers 20V and 50V HV CMOS-HV and bipolar devices with very low 'on resistances' and die sizes down to 0.04mm2. The process also features a full set of analogue modules, capacitors, along with a high resistive poly option. Only two mask level adders on top of the CMOS are required.
"For the future we plan to fully characterise HV devices for 120V or even beyond," reports Peter Gasteiner, senior vice president and general manger of the Full Service Foundry unit.
