WAM acquires OMC Scientific
The Dutch subsidiary of US firm Williams Advanced Materials (WAM) has acquired Ireland-based OMC Scientific Holdings.
The Dutch subsidiary of US firm Williams Advanced Materials (WAM) has acquired Ireland-based OMC Scientific Holdings.
OMC provides precision cleaning and reconditioning services for physical vapour deposition customers serving the magnetic and semiconductor and optical data storage markets. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquisition, which includes a modern operating facility in Limerick with 35 employees, will expand WAMs geographical reach into Ireland, the UK and continental Europe.
WAM president Richard Sager said: "We are excited to have OMC Scientific Holdings and its talented workforce join the WAM team. OMCS is recognised as a leader in technological expertise and service, and has generated a solid record of growth and profitability since its founding.
"This acquisition allows us to immediately offer existing and future customers a broader and highly complementary range of capabilities, and adds a new source of revenues and margin contribution to our organisation."
WAM has had a business relationship with OMCS since 2000 with OMCS performing value-added bonding and logistics services for WAM sputtering target materials exported from North America.
