EV Group says that it is expanding its operations in North America in response to increased business and customer demand.
EV Group says that it is expanding its operations in North America in response to increased business and customer demand. The company's US subsidiary will combine its headquarters, technology centre and customer support in the Arizona State University (ASU) Research Park. The new facility offers a Class 10 production clean room. An on-site lab will include the company's entire equipment range for demonstrations, customer training and process development.

In addition to being a tenant in the facility, EV Group has accepted an offer to become a principal partner in the Flexible Display Center, a research project between Arizona State University and the US Army. EV Group also plans to move its US East Coast operations from Rhode Island to the Albany NanoTech facility at the University at Albany-State University of New York.

Renesas Technology is to establish a system LSI design centre in Vietnam. The new design center, Renesas Design Viet Nam (RVC, tentative name), is to be set up in October 2004. RVC will design components such as SH-Mobile processors. RVC will then expand its business to designing other system-on-chip (SoC) products and software, and increase its engineers to 200 in FY2006 and 1000 in FY2010.
