BOC's semiconductor industry division, BOC Edwards (BOCE), increased its Q3 2004 turnover (GBP215.0mn) by 33% over Q3 2003.
BOC's semiconductor industry division, BOC Edwards (BOCE), increased its Q3 2004 turnover (GBP215.0mn) by 33% over Q3 2003. Adjusted operating profits were GBP15.2mn, up 314%. The division contributes some 10% of the group's profit. The Financial Times (August 4, 2004) called a semiconductor downturn on the back of the fact that BOCE's turnover was down on Q2 2004.

Aixtron reports Q2 2004 total revenues at EUR34.2mn, a 53% increase over Q2 2003. Net income was EUR0.5mn compared with a net loss of EUR8.3mn in Q2 2003. The company forecasts total revenues for the year of EUR130-140mn with net income coming in the range EUR2-5mn.

The Taiwan foundries report July 2004 sales. UMC reports July 2004 sales at TWD11.202bn, a 59.78% increase on July 2003's TWD7.010bn. TSMC's July 2004 sales of TWD23.148bn represent a 31.2% increase over July 2003's TWD17.649bn.
