Renesas Technology has decided to close its European manufacturing subsidiary Renesas Semiconductor Europe (Alsdorf) in Germany.
Renesas Technology has decided to close its European manufacturing subsidiary Renesas Semiconductor Europe (Alsdorf) in Germany. Renesas plans to stop manufacturing activities at RSEA this year and to transfer microcontroller (MCU), SRAM, and NOR Flash memory products to manufacturing sites in Japan. The Alsdorf site was established in November 1989. The capital invested since then comes to EUR107mn. In March 2004, the site employed 520 people.
