Denmark-based wireless communications firm RTX Telecom has been chosen by US giant Microsoft to help develop the game pad for the next generation Xbox 360 games console.
The new Xbox will be the first games console to feature wireless game pads that communicate with the main box via radio signals rather than through wires.
Richard Lum, Xbox programme manager at Microsoft, said that RTX was the natural choice for the contract.
"Few other companies have the ability to meet our specifications and time requirements. RTX engineers have a strong track record in implementing the core wireless technology selected for Xbox 360."
RTX president and chief executive officer Jorgen Elbaek said that the company was "very excited" about working on the Xbox.
"This agreement demonstrates RTX Telecom's strong position in wireless technology and is leveraging our successful technology platform into new market areas."
