New European SEMI President
Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International has announced that Heinz Kundert will be the next president of SEMI Europe/CIS. His appointment will come into place on Oct. 3, 2005.
Kundert is due to succeed Walter Roessger, who has served in the role since joining SEMI in 1994. Roessger is to become president emeritus of SEMI Europe/CIS on Oct. 3, 2005 and serve in this advisory capacity until retirement the end of January 2006, SEMI said.
Kundert, who is currently a member of the SEMI International Board of Directors, is due to relinquish his board position and report to SEMI president and chief executive officer Stanley Myers when he becomes an employee of the organization.
“Walter Roessger has had a distinguished career in the semiconductor industry and made important contributions as the president of SEMI Europe,” said Myers, in a statement. “He has been an energetic, creative and gregarious leader of our operations in Europe. Our membership, international board and staff very much appreciate his tireless dedication to our industry and SEMI.”
