Three years after the founding of a subsidiary in Shenzhen in 2002, Alphasem has relocated to larger premises in Suzhou. The Swiss based company generates approximately 75 percent of its turnover in Asia. The new subsidiary offers tremendous advantages because of its closeness to customers, especially in Shanghai and the surrounding area, in working together and in implementing technically exacting solutions.
The Easyline series of machines will be produced in the new facility in Suzhou as before. These machines are mainly used for the production of ICs and Power Devices. The research and development facilities for this machine type will be fully developed and in future, equipment innovations will also come from China.
The new facilities begins with about 30 employees and this number will significantly increase in the future. The majority of the employees are highly qualified and experienced engineers and technicians from China who can produce between 30 and 50 machines a month. “As well as our recent investment in a large modern building in Switzerland, we also see the opening of our subsidiary [in China] as a further step to extend our leadership in the market for die attach and die sort systems” said Claus Lichtenberg, CEO of Alphasem AG.
