Aviza Technology receives order from Silterra Malaysia

AvizaTechnology, a supplier of semiconductor equipment and process technologies announced that it has received a multiple system order from Silterra Malaysia. for refurbished Advanced Vertical Processor (AVP) thermal processing systems. Initial tool shipments have already begun and are scheduled to continue through mid-year 2006.
"Our working relationship with Aviza has been mutually rewarding," said Ralph Griffin, Vice President of Operations at Silterra. "With the company's certified refurbished equipment program, we found the selection process of the AVP systems through purchase and initial installation very straightforward. The program is proving to be the most cost-effective solution to meet our production budgets and goals. We plan to use Aviza's AVP systems for most of our thermal oxidation and low pressure chemical vapour deposition (LPCVD) requirements."

Aviza formed its Certified Refurbished Equipment Business Unit in April 2005. Since this time, Aviza has shipped more than 15 refurbished systems to multiple customers in Asia, Europe and North America.
One of the primary reasons for purchasing refurbished systems from OEMs over third party refurbishers is risk mitigation. Through a formalised and rigorous certification process that includes final testing, which is consistent with new equipment requirements.
