Belgium-based De Clercq Engineering BVBA (DCE), announced the acquisition of the assets of Nimble NV, another Belgium-based company, specialized in Manufacturing Excellence Solutions. Nimble, with main focus on microelectronics manufacturing (MEL) and related industries, brings a wealth of expertise and a well-populated and proven product portfolio in the field of Enterprise and Factory Capacity Planning and Advanced Planning and Scheduling. Its products are installed and used at the world’s most-advanced semiconductor manufacturing factories in North-America, Europe and Asia. Its products include MaTISSe Manufacturing IT Framework, dCp, eCp, Factory Tracker, RuBEnS/RT, DEGAS and Minerva.

The price that DCE has paid for the assets of Nimble was not disclosed. "Nimble’s expertise and know-how in the complex & discrete manufacturing environments such as semiconductor fabrication, as well as its international market knowledge and orientation, make this acquisition particularly timely for DCE," said Koen De Clercq, DCE’s Founder and Managing Director. "We are confident that through a smart migration of the two companies’ products and framework technologies, we will be able to offer to our existing and future customers an even more robust and versatile suite of Manufacturing and Logistics IT applications, and associated consulting and integration services”. He continued:

"Through this acquisition, DCE demonstrates its strategic mission to strive on continuous improvement, to expand into other territories and markets, and whilst maintaining primary focus on customer satisfaction. Latter is imperative to us." In order to continue the focus on, and to rapidly expand business activity and grow market share in the microelectronics and related market segments, Nimble will become a separate Business Unit. In order to guarantee continuity in services to existing customers and to drive short-term commercial successes with others, two of Nimble’s former managing directors will join this newly-formed Business Unit, together with the majority of its technical staff.
