Far East success results
Semiconductor equipment manufacturer, Syniad Systems announced that it has won a major contract to develop the next generation of wafer sorting machine for the semi-conductor industry, which will lead to more than £1 million in new business.
The contract, placed by a major UK semiconductor processing facility, will see Port Talbot-based Syniad Systems create a new generation of high throughput wafer sorters that build on the company's successes in recent Far East contracts in which Syniad Systems developed software for older wafer sorting machines. During the past year, Syniad Systems has developed systems and software for the semiconductor industry, modifying older equipment to current standards. Consequently the company has built a reputation for bespoke hardware and software development of older wafer sorter technology. As Ian Rysdale, MD of Syniad Systems said:"This is a very significant contract and represents a real milestone for us. It is a vote of confidence in the company's capabilities, innovation and quality." Syniad Systems expects sales for the resulting new technology to exceed £1MGBP by the end of 2007, opening up new markets for the company in USA, Europe and Asia.
