Global success for European company
Datacon has announced full order books, having won a couple of important bids for RFID assembly lines in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific against strong competition.
Datacon plans to offer line solutions for RFID chip assembly that will reduce chip assembly costs to 0.1 cent/bond by 2007. For a 5-cent tag, that is precisely 2% of the final price. With triple-shift operation, 5-year depreciation and a correspondingly high up-time, costs for chip assembly start at 0.2 cents. With Datacon's current R&D programs, which envisage a doubling of performance within the 2 years, the 0.1 US cent goal can definitely be achieved.Helmut Rutterschmidt, President & CEO of Datacon Technology GmbH, comments: "We are very exited about the strong demand for our 8800 Smart Line. The winning bids in Europe, the US and Asia Pacific are proof that our concept is well accepted by our clients. The heart of our RFID assembly line, our 8800 FC Quantum machine with its dual-head system, is being used worldwide in high-volume production lines."
