Additional Thomas Swan MOCVD reactor order

AIXTRON is pleased to announce that Uni Light Technology ordered its next Thomas Swan MOCVD reactor in the first quarter of 2006. AIXTRON expects shipment to be during the second quarter of 2006. The system, a Thomas Swan CCS 19x2" multiwafer reactor, is to be used for the development and manufacture of gallium nitride (GaN) based epitaxial wafer materials for LED devices.
Uni Light Technology chose this new system following their success with their first Thomas Swan system. The new MOCVD reactor will be installed in Uni Light's manufacturing facility in Taoyuan Hsien, Taiwan.Uni Light Technology has been using AIXTRON equipment since 2003 including an AIX 2600G3 HT Planetary Reactor and AlGaInP-system in 24x2" wafer configuration for mass production of InGaN-based LEDs.Mr. Ping-Hui Lee, Chairman of Uni Light Technology comments: "We have been very satisfied with our first GaN MOCVD system and have decided to acquire another Thomas Swan CCS multiwafer reactor. It will form the basis of our continued expansion plans and will be configured as a GaN HB-LED production tool."
