New Asia-Pacific network hub boosts global collaboration and security
The hub completes the company's secureWISE global connectivity service, offering real-time, secure collaboration for the semiconductor industry. Now designers, IC manufacturers and equipment OEMs can collaborate via eCentre from any point around the world using a secureWISE connection to fine-tune the manufacturing processes that speed leading-edge devices to market.
The Hong Kong hub completes ILS Technology's secure, high-performance global network and complements existing hubs in New York and London. The new Hong Kong hub is designed to improve network access to the burgeoning chip manufacturing industry in Asia-Pacific.
The hub will provide device manufacturers in Japan, Taiwan, Mainland China, Malaysia, South Korea and Singapore with a dedicated network to communicate with design centres, supply-chain partners and equipment vendors around the world. Today, ILS Technology's secureWISE platform is installed in over nine fabs in the Asia-Pacific region alone.
The high performance built into ILS Technology's ServiceNET VPN allows a chip designer to monitor the real-time progress of chips being manufactured at a remote manufacturing centre across the world. The network is designed to eliminate the need for multiple site-to-site VPN connections, lowering operation expenses and that impede network security and performance.
"Today's advanced ICs require a tremendous amount of collaboration to develop and manufacture. The opening of the Hong Kong hub improves the ability of the manufacturing supply chain to collaborate live from any remote location around the world," said Bill Ramus, senior vice president of commercial management at ILS Technology.
"For example, using secureWISE, a designer can connect from his office in California and collaborate in real-time with a manufacturer in Taiwan with the confidence that the company's intellectual property is being protected. We're providing the industry with one of the best tools to achieve their time-to-market goals for leading-edge devices.
"The network hub also offers another level of redundancy for ServiceNET to guarantee connectivity around the clock. The new hub has multiple communication paths that enable the system to select the most efficient, high performance path between two remote locations without any demand on a customer's information technology resources.
