Aviza have announced it received a new order for its Advanced Vertical Processor 200-mm thermal processing system from a leading Chinese semiconductor foundry. This is a significant order for Aviza as it marks a new customer win for the Company in China. The foundry customer plans to use the AVP system for the production of flash memory IC devices.

"We are delighted to have secured a new customer for Aviza's AVP system in China, as this is an important region and market for Aviza, in which we continue to strengthen our presence," said May Su, Vice President and General Manager, Thermal Business Unit of Aviza Technology, Inc. "Our proprietary processes developed for Flash devices on the AVP system fulfill a critical application for floating gates. By leveraging a dual boat platform, the AVP tool is capable of continuous operation, resulting in increased throughput and low cost of ownership. We believe that the AVP system will complement the customer's existing manufacturing capabilities, and we look forward to supporting their existing and future needs."

Within the past 12 months, Aviza has successfully penetrated various leading Chinese foundries, both new and existing customers, with its critical thin film formation technologies. In addition to this most recent AVP thermal system order, Aviza systems in this growing region include the following: Celsior single wafer atomic layer deposition system, Sigma fxP single wafer cluster physical vapor deposition systems as well as the RVP-300plus and RVP-550 batch thermal processing systems. This is a testament that Aviza's suite of products can satisfy chipmakers' volume production needs by meeting the technology, productivity, and cost-of-ownership requirements for a broad range of applications.
