Global development centre will harvest local talent and infrastructure in China

Applied Materials has announced it will hold an opening ceremony for its new Xi¹an China Global Development and Technology Support Centre.
Applied Materials has announced it will hold an opening ceremony for its new Xi¹an China Global Development and Technology Support Centre. The 106,000 square foot facility on 25 acres (U.S.) offers state-of-the-art laboratory, tool demonstration and assembly space in its cleanrooms.

³The Xi¹an centre is a major expansion of our capabilities and positions us strategically to benefit as growth continues throughout China, particularly in the west,² said Mike Splinter, president and CEO of Applied Materials.
³We are attracting quality employees from local technical universities, and this development and support centre will be a cornerstone of our growth strategy throughout China and, indeed, all of Asia.²

³We are proud to have a company with Applied Materials¹ reputation for business and technology to open such a versatile facility here in Xi¹an,² said Chen Baogen, Mayor of Xi¹an. ³We are confident that Xi¹an will provide the infrastructure and base of employees needed to accomplish their growth plans and we offer our continued support as we move forward toward mutual prosperity.²

³We are pleased to celebrate the timely completion of our newest facility and appreciate the support we received from the Xi¹an and Shaanxi provincial governments in achieving this important milestone,² Splinter concluded.
